In-Character Rules
Rules
1. No godmodding, character control or railroading.
Godmodding is giving your character abilities beyond what they should have. If someone shoots an arrow at you from two feet in front of you, you WILL be hit. If someone unleashes a fire spell with a range of 10 feet and you are right next to them, unless you have 100% fire shield (which you shouldn't have as it is considered godmodding to be invulnerable to anything unnaturally), you will be hit with fire. You cannot fly. Ever.
Character control is when you decided what another person's character does without their permission. If someone's character swings a sword at your neck, your character can block it or dodge it but you cannot retaliate by stabbing them in the stomach. You can stab AT their stomach but it is not your place to decide whether or not they are wounded. However, refer to godmodding. You may not repeatedly dodge attacks without a logical, acceptable explanation. Killing another person's character without their consent is likewise impermissible.
Railroading is leading a thread away from the original purpose of the RP without the permission or intent of the thread creator.
2. Respect the IC/OOC barrier.
It may be common knowledge OOC that the leader of the Dark Brotherhood is Listener Abraxas but unless your character has been deliberately handed this information, he does not know who runs the Dark Brotherhood. Treat all information likewise. If your character is exploring a ruin and there is an axe-wielding Dwemer machine at the bottom, you may know about it but your character does not and cannot start preparing for attack by an axe-wielding Dwemer machine.
This also applies to your character's interaction with other characters. You may hold a particular animosity for member A but that does not mean your character has to hold an animosity towards character A. Similarly, just because character B tries to kick your character in the face, it does not mean that member B wants to kick you in the face.
3. The writing rules apply here too.
The rules on spelling, grammar and punctuation described in the OOC Rules thread apply here too. Maybe you're not the greatest roleplayer or writer in general but you can at least make an effort to make your posts legible.
PUNISHMENTS
All punishments applicable for breaking the OOC Rules may be given for breaking the IC Rules.
